Girls Rugby League

Beenleigh SHS Girls Rugby League played against Flagstone State Community College held at Flagstone in Week 9. The girls played a tight contest with Hinu, Hayley and Suelyn displaying some great attacking plays. Beenleigh maintained a large percentage of possession in their attacking line with several unsuccessful attempts to cross the line. The girls were down 8-4 at half-time. The game continued to be close with both teams displaying a strong defensive line and some great tries.
Beenleigh eventually lost 26-20. Ms Jolly and Ms Killian were extremely proud of the sportsmanship and positivity that the girls played and were impressed with their skill and game improvement. The girls have been lucky enough to have Wayde Kelly from the NRL Development come out to school on Monday afternoons to hold some training sessions. Next term the girls will continue training for the Brisbane Broncos Challenge where schools from Logan will compete against one another. If you are interested in playing, we are looking for a few more players for the U14’s and U16’s.
