Beenleigh Masterchef 2014

During Week 6, 24 keen young Masterchef contestants competed in the first-ever Beenleigh SHS Masterchef competition. The energy in the Trade Training Centre (TTC) was electric as contestants cooked against the clock to present a Main and a Dessert to the two judges. Mongolian lamb, smoked cod with baby potatoes, stuffed pork with sweet potato fritters beef stroganoff and German coleslaw were a few of the creative main meals. For desserts, the judges were delighted with snow eggs and homemade custard, flourless chocolate-raspberry cakes, mini pavlovas and banana split cupcakes.

Mr O’Hanlon, Miss Anderson and guest judge Angie Pieper from Luv-a-Coffee were very impressed with the work ethic and organisation from all students. Their time management was perfect with all students ready to present their meals at the specified times.

The winners were:
Seniors: 1st: Jazzi Pybus & Maddi Rowlands – They produced Cajun chicken breast with avocado, lime and chilli salsa with baby rosemary skewers followed by their dessert of Banana Split Pancakes. They had outstanding presentation!
